This website is a place to explore the history, language and culture of Kingfisher Lake First Nation online. Our hope is that it will benefit language learners and people who want to learn more about their culture (but don’t forget to go learn out on the land too!).
Right now this site is a landing place for the various language and culture projects being done by the Indigenous Spiritual Ministry of Mishamikoweesh (at the Mission House) in partnership with Kingfisher Lake First Nation. But we are happy for it to grow into a place that anyone in the community can contribute to. If you have any ideas, or feel that something should be different on the website, please contact us at the mission house.
We’d also like to thank the many community members who are featured on this website for sharing their knowledge. The content on this site is intended for educational purposes only, and was developed with funding from Heritage Canada, Wycliffe Canada, the National Indian Brotherhood Trust Fund, and the Anglican Church of Canada.
– Sincerely, the ISMM Translation Office
